Atlanta, GA, November 4, 2024 – The Global Opportunities Committee (GOC) of the Atlanta Black Chambers (ABC) is pleased to announce the signing of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Black Entrepreneurs Association (BEA) of Guyana. This agreement aims to create a more inclusive global trade and investment network for Black-owned businesses, aligning with GOC’s vision of achieving $100 billion in global transactions over the next decade.

This strategic partnership will leverage the strengths of both associations, providing their members with valuable opportunities to expand into new markets and engage in cross-border partnerships. The MOU focuses on key objectives including business matchmaking, knowledge exchange, joint advocacy, and sustainable growth, thereby supporting Black-owned businesses on a global scale.

“Through this partnership with the BEA, we are laying the foundation for stronger international collaboration and a unified network of Black entrepreneurs,” said Melvin Coleman, President and CEO of the Atlanta Black Chambers.

Chairman of the Global Opportunities Committee of the Atlanta Black Chambers, Ricardo Berris, noted that: “Our goal is to expand opportunities for our members in diverse markets and industries worldwide,”

Lance Hinds, BEA’s Board Secretary, stated that this MOU will open an exciting new chapter in the business relationship between Black-owned businesses in the U.S. and Guyana.

The MOU outlines collaborative events and initiatives, including joint conferences, trade missions, and a business matchmaking platform, which will facilitate connections between entrepreneurs in the United States, Guyana, and other participating regions. With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and industry best practices, both organisations are committed to fostering economic and social benefits within the Black business community.

The partnership aligns with GOC’s mission to empower Black businesses through trade and investment programs, such as the annual Go Global Conference and sector-specific training sessions. BEA members will also gain access to ABC’s global resources, including programs in technology, green energy, real estate, finance, and healthcare.
